Courses of stone, one above the other, like the wall everyone knows, wrap the mezuzah cylinder, with the letter Shin set among them. The texture of the chiseling and the joints between the stones can be felt to the touch, bringing one small wall of Jerusalem to the doorframe.

Three shades within the family: Gold, courses of mustard-gold hue with a gray strip and the letter Shin engraved within the golden stone. Terracotta, courses of pink-terracotta hue with a gray strip and a silvery Shin. And Sand, a light sand-hued body with gray courses and the Shin integrated directly into the wall itself.
